BAPTISMS AND DEDICATIONS

"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call." Acts 2: 38, 39

Parkview United Methodist Church is open to baptizing believers and their children. Call the church if you have an interest—614-274-8431.

WEDDINGS AND CELEBRATIONS

Weddings are an integral part of the ministries of the Parkview United Methodist Church.  We look upon your choice of our church as the setting of your wedding ceremony as your personal affirmation that marriage is a sacred trust.  We hope the beauty of the Sanctuary enhances the dignity and meaning of the ceremony.

Pre-marital Wedding Counseling Sessions are offered at Parkview Church with the pastor. These sessions will be scheduled through the church office and are to be completed prior to the date of your marriage ceremony.

For more information, e-mail the church office at pvumc1@att.net or call 614-274-8431.

FUNERALS AND BURIALS

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. --Psalm 23

Jesus said to his disciples:

"Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going."

Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” John 14:1-6

At Parkveiew United Methodist Church we are honored to help you with your funeral and memorial service needs. In times of bereavement please call the Church office and the pastors will sensitively assist you in the planning of a Celebration of Life service. Preplanning is invited and pastors will partner with you in a gentle and helpful way.

In the United Methodist Church, Baptism, along with Communion are considered Holy Sacraments. Baptism is a sacrament. In a sacrament, God uses common elements — in this case, water — as means or vehicles of divine grace. Baptism is administered by the church as the Body of Christ. It is the act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Baptism is the movement of God in a child's life and a public profession of the child's parents to raise the child in a Christian home. The church body also commits to help raise the child in a holy community and join them on a path for life that is fulfilling, purposeful and joyful.

Baptism is a very special occasion in our church family, because it is at this time that the church family makes a public promise to help raise the child in the ways of God through faith, devotion and love.

We have an open door policy on weddings which has brought new friends to Parkview UMC. Weddings are a welcome part of this church and the hearts of its members.  Parkview Church is open to marry its members, and if you are not a member, we open our arms to you also.

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”
